On behalf of the East of England APPG, we have written to Sir Chris Bryant MP to thank him for addressing our recent meeting and to follow up on key issues raised. The letter outlines eight specific areas where targeted Government support could unlock significant growth, opportunity, and wellbeing through tourism and culture in the East.

These include support for major private investment in Bedford, coordination on tourism and hospitality skills, investment in critical transport infrastructure, embedding culture across government departments, and backing for local regeneration efforts such as the First Light Festival in Lowestoft. We also call for stronger engagement with regional partners on visitor economy structures and challenge assumptions within Treasury modelling that undervalue domestic tourism.

The full letter, signed by East of England APPG co-chairs and vice-chairs, has been sent to the Minister and copied to relevant Government departments.
